GOP strategist on Robinson campaign reshuffle: "Not a huge surprise"

Multiple staffers have left the campaign for Mark Robinson, the Republican candidate for governor in North Carolina, The campaign reported tonight that its top staffers have resigned from their roles, just days after we published a bombshell report in our Newsweek revealing racist sexually graphic and blatant comments made by Raman on a porn website several years ago. Robinson wrote in a statement and I quote that I appreciate the efforts of these team members who have made the difficult choice to step away from the campaign and I wish them all the best in their future endeavors, I look forward to announcing new staffers in the coming days.

Over the night it has seen that everyone from top staffers to Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson’s campaign have resigned in the wake of our story, including the campaign manager, deputy campaign manager, finance director, top adviser, and senior adviser. This brings his campaign to now consisting primarily of a senior staffer who is joining in the final months of the election. Now I think the question is how this campaign goes from here, are more staffers going to resign? This is the latest fallout from the story that we published on Thursday. One authority and when you talk to him I know you interviewed him. He denied a lot of things, which you wait for before he went in with a lot of evidence, but you got any indication at that point that there might be changes in his campaign.

It may be surprising to you that we had heard rumors about our interview with him. Because people may have noticed that his story started to leak before we published it, somebody in his campaign leaked it somewhere. We had heard rumors that his campaign staff had resigned. Asked him directly in that interview did your campaign staff resigned, as you told me it doesn’t matter who, I believe none of his paid staff resigned so since then I don’t know if it happened before back then all of his top workers on his campaign would be many of them have all resigned en masse now I mean a senior advisor that the head of the campaign canon a lot of senior staff members. Ah, Andrew just for those of you who maybe don’t remember all the details I didn’t get to read the report.

We found that between two thousand eight and two thousand twelve Mark Robinson made comments on the forums of a pornographic website where he described himself as a quote black and a Nazi he said he liked Hitler more than us. The leadership wanted to take out the most disturbing comments he made including that he said he supports reinstating slavery. Robinson also Ryan a very vehemently anti-tribal anti-transgender candidate brothers. We thought that one comment in our story where he said he enjoyed watching transgender pornography. He’s running as a socially conservative candidate. Very anti-abortion. We found a comment where he said he didn’t care if a woman had an abortion, there was a lot of sexually graphic material in there, which we couldn’t even publish in our story.

We also found a lot of comments like one where he said he got sexual gratification from remembering spying on women in public bathrooms as a teenager, so just a lot of disturbing things that we’ve been able to trace back to Robinson. He used the same username around the world that he used on that forum, it’s a tool that had his name listed on it.
