Jessamyn Crockett on what to expect from Governor Walz at the vice presidential debate

Joining us now is Texas Democratic Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett, who is also the national cochair of Harris Wall’s campaign Congresswoman. Republicans in the Middle East are claiming that the Biden administration is responsible for Iran’s attack on Israel. The House Republican leadership released a joint statement, saying the world should know that the United States will stand with Israel. What is your reaction to this tonight, yet you know it’s very sad. They have decided that they are going to politicize this wild thing like this war in the Middle East. Then we have the real issues, obviously we know that Iran has decided that they are going to adopt a level of aggression that is unacceptable.

This should be unacceptable in a bipartisan way. We know that Iran has decided to do this because they are supporting these various terrorist organizations, because they have been designated by the United States. So this should never be okay. The state actor then has to decide whether they’re going to launch a missile at another state because they’re basically looking for a terrorist organization. I don’t think it should be anything political I think that while and people question where we stand as it relates to our support for various allies. It’s only because Republicans have been in control of the House we haven’t seen better support for some of our friends and allies, but at the end of the day I think we all say the right thing we did on counterterrorism was to make sure that Israel was safe. Because everything was absolutely wrong all around. A follow-up to them in April you voted in favor of aid for Israel do you think there should be conditions put on the aid given recent events.

We think we should continue to evaluate what’s going on and make those decisions because as you can see they’re constantly changing. You know when we finished assisting they were looking at war. It seems like it was a much bigger deal than it was, it seems like this war is going to spread as we saw what happened with Hezbollah. So I think it’s a matter of determining where we are and what’s going to happen, obviously if Iran continues down this path. It will provide for a different set of circumstances that are age-related, so I don’t think we should make any decisions at this time. Because we honestly don’t know what’s going to be necessary and turning to the topic of abortion you’ve been on a reproductive freedom bus tour this week or a Georgia court has struck down a different six-week ban on abortion as unconstitutional. D.C. This is progress in the penalty for reproductive freedom in the South. It could have a greater impact in places like Texas. When we spoke to one of the lawyers told us that unfortunately I know the court made the decision in Georgia while it’s a step in the right direction we know there are a lot of courts that are higher than this particular court.

We know that the court of equality is Trump’s court, it’s Trump’s court that made the decision to hand down Roe v Wade in the first place. So now I don’t trust his judges to do the right thing, especially in the case of women in this country and so while I appreciate that we have this courageous judge and Fulton County who did exactly what a judge should do. He’s trying to bring back some semblance of hope and dignity within our courts and within medical access or health care access for women across the country, I don’t think Texas will certainly follow that and I certainly don’t trust this current Supreme Court and ultimately Congress when you just want to talk about the border from home. Vice President Harris has said she would bring back former President Trump, you’ve expressed your disappointment when that happened.
