John Diddy Combs appeared in federal court today, this was the music mogul’s first appearance. The new judge who will preside over his trial on sex trafficking charges, the previous judge recused himself due to a relationship with one of Combs’ lawyers, the trial date was set for May fifth of next year, but now prosecutors have said they have seized a hundred electronic devices from Combs, and are now working to extract data; fifty of them were established in March during that time in a mansion. Others established a state in Miami and on his person during a search at a private airport in Florida, and Combs is in federal custody, after previous requests to release him on bail were denied.
He also denied all the allegations against him, and now we are joined by a BC senior investigative reporter, Aaron Cutter Ski, who is in that courthouse, so i am infertile. It seems that authorities have also subpoenaed records from the Combs company. We do not know what they have subpoenaed, but we do know that prosecutors believe Combs did not act alone. That is not the only allegation, but they believe he is the leader of a criminal enterprise, there was a network of people who worked for him, enabled the meals, so these show that these were women who were allegedly forced to participate after being drugged. They were held against their will, so prosecutors are gathering a lot of evidence that is now going to be part of this trial that they are set to make. Of course, that raises the question again of whether we will see more defendants being named, but we do know that Combs’ attorneys are accusing federal prosecutors and agents of leaking that hotel surveillance footage of Combs that prosecutors say shows him attacking his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura.
We know it was originally obtained by the media, but what both sides in this case are doing is arguing about that part of the video; the defense is blaming the government or bleach. They wanted to stop the government, they say it is a baseless allegation that the government did not even have the video before it aired on Media, one prosecutor said, and they said it is just a different tactic to try to remove this damning piece of evidence from the case.
