Suspect named in Kentucky highway shooter, manhunt ongoing

This is breaking news right now and in Kentucky where police are tracking down a desperate man after he went on a shooting spree on an interstate they’re looking for this guy Joseph Couch they say he’s armed and dangerous this afternoon investigators said they found his car and the suspected weapon used, and fifteen officers say Couch shot at cars as he drove down the interstate seventy-five and through a rural county five people were injured in the attack on driver told Media about the terrifying experience after just heard a deafening loud noise , and it sounded like a small rock went through my back window and our ears were ringing , and we just kept looking at each other , and we’d see if it was a bullet and right it couldn’t be a bullet you know because we were driving down the highway and there was a white truck that was in the right lane next to us and all of a sudden he slowed down and pulled over to the shoulder , and we thought maybe he had a tire blowout or something , but it was way louder than a dress rip.

It was keeping track of the latest developments in this case or what are you learning Gloria Fried had started to hear from some of the victims, and you can imagine how chaotic the scene was you’re driving down the highway moving at a high speed and all of a sudden you hear gunfire and my colleague Gillian Sykes spoke to one of the survivors of this incident who was injured in the shooting. Her name is Rebecca Poor Year, and she’s a twenty-eight-year-old woman who was driving her car with her husband and her four-year-old son we were shocked to see the car’s condition.

The car was also shattered after people were shot and suffered arm injuries Rebecca is going to be okay she has already been discharged from the hospital, but she is one of the five people who were injured during the shooting last night as you said the search for the suspect is ongoing. Police have identified Joseph Couch, they believe he is the suspect behind this incident, and they are questioning people in this community in town, to be cautious they think they have not cordoned off the area they are currently searching, but they are open to the possibility that he could be somewhere else by now, this happened last night, and they had to stop Surges because of the darkness at dusk.

When we talked to our reporter we found out how difficult this area is, there are a lot of trees, a lot of bushes, and there’s not a lot of lighting out there to search at night, I want you to listen to the rural county sheriff’s office describe some of the injuries that this suspect allegedly suffered. Because there were a lot of injuries during the shooting last night. One lousy guy, if I had another guy in the military, he would have been hurt very seriously. This could have been serious, you’re lucky you got shot through the chest. Those are very serious injuries, I don’t want to see and we’ve already had no fatalities.

But we’ve certainly heard some severe injuries and that will affect these people for the rest of your life. I’m sure it’s unbelievable how lucky everybody was last night, we know that fifteen more were recovered. Police believe that this was the weapon that this individual used in this shooting. They also recovered his vehicle with the gun I was inside the vehicle they believe he is armed and a threat. As we also reported in the last couple of hours the family of this suspect needs to cooperate.

They live somewhere else outside this county, but the sheriff’s office said they are cooperating they said they have a big job to do in the next several hours they’re working against time, and they don’t want the sun to go down. Once again this individual has been apprehended, and they are working every possible angle they are using dogs, drones, and helicopters again this was one of the hardest-to-search areas in a very wooded area. But the community is trying to hold on.
