The "Purple Tour" is an effort to encourage people to vote

With just a month to go until election day, a tour of daytime dance parties is hoping to get people excited about voting and civic engagement, the Party to the Polls Purple Tour is holding fifty events across fifteen states this election season. These parties involve voter registration, early voting and they also want to show gratitude to poll workers, with the goal of bringing people together regardless of their political party, which is key to joining me here. Now there’s Julianne Hough, of course you know her as an actress, singer and entrepreneur, dancer and host of Dancing with the Stars, she wouldn’t even have time to list all of these, but she is also the health and wellness ambassador for Purple.

Right Torso Julianne thanks for taking the time, really appreciate it, after that you’re telling me, of course tell us about Purple, why you wanted to get involved. Sir with the vibe it’s like who doesn’t like a dance party, well don’t live last Friday, honestly Purple Tor is the most historic night to get people out the vote young people. We have thirty events and thirty seconds out party events thirty days across the country to inspire people to vote early on the party break we just want to remind people that you know know your civic participation, it’s so important to be able to be proud and celebrate. I’m going to feel empowered that you have a voice and especially young people across the country this event especially this tour is to help inspire people. Really I think to be inspired to get out there. Your voice matters, of course the Purple Torn which it’s a non-partisan so everyone is welcome. Of course we’ll have early morning dances or have an incredible early morning dance party.

There were so many events. It’s scientifically proven that when you dance with people you become more connected, there’s more trust, there’s such an incredible atmosphere that changes your energy. You’re able to focus on what’s important. You’re able to see each other. You’re able to connect with each other. You’re able to do some good in the world, so dancing is very important to bring people together. What better way to do that than to go and party at polling stations, so the whole purpose of the purple tourists is to encourage people to get out or vote early and come party and dance with us.

Anyone can go to crippletor.org, obviously don’t get much information about where these events are going to be held, but still go there and RSVP there’s snacks, there’s music, they have amazing performances, we saw Mike Posner here at L Leg or Mitotic class. , I mean it’s really a new exciting fun way for you–realistically it’s intense, it’s situational voting, but how can we come together in a new way, it wasn’t lost on us that you’re wearing purple–awesome and you know what you just said is so important and I like the fact that it’s going after voters, period Americans period on both sides of the aisle you’re not going after Democrats.

In Republican independence you’re not going to be going to places where young voters are people who are less likely to vote, that was really something that you pointed out right one hundred percent I think you know it’s so important to reach those people. First time voters or people who are not usually likely to get out and vote. It’s all about connecting through riots and dance, we can see there’s so much to be empowered. Using our civic engagement is really the most empowering thing. When you feel empowered, you can be a ripple effect of change for those around you. While it may feel like you have to follow someone else’s lead, when you have that empowerment, you have so much potential to be that ripple effect of change, so get out and vote.
